Reflecting on 2024!

As we step into 2025, we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible impact we made together in 2024. With your unwavering support, Shelter from the Storm was able to accomplish so much for survivors in Union County.

Here’s what we achieved in 2024!

Serving Survivors

• Supported 230 clients, providing 1,539 services like advocacy, court accompaniment, safety planning, and rental assistance.

• Answered 192 crisis calls on our 24-hour hotline.

• Sheltered 48 adults and 29 children in our safe house for a total of 2,439 nights of safety.

Community Outreach

• Distributed 918 food boxes, helping 2,616 individuals in our community.

• Held 37 outreach events at local favorites like Hog Wild Days, Crazy Days, Farmers Market, Union County Fair, Downtown Trick or Treat, and more.

• Worked with EOU to present to every sports team on campus about our services for relationship violence and sexual assault.

Empowering Connections

• Relaunched Survivor Support Groups in July, holding 9 meetings where survivors could connect and support one another.

• Hosted our Evening Under the Stars Gala in September, raising crucial funds to support survivors.

• Began sponsoring a Free Women’s Self-Defense Class in partnership with Grande Ronde Fitness.
